We welcome a new graduate student to the lab!
We are very excited for YiRang Shin to join our lab! She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) in South Korea, majoring in Information and Communication Engineering. YiRang, welcome aboard!
The group welcomes a new graduate student!
The photoacoustic research group welcomes a new graduate student, Mark Lin. Mark, welcome on board!

We have opening positions!
Postdoctoral Fellows:
We currently have one position opening. All applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or MD as well as peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals. Candidates with a strong background in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, radiology, optics, biology, or nanotechnology are encouraged to apply.
Graduate Students:
We are actively looking for exceptionally qualified graduate students with a background in Electrical Engineering, Bio-engineering, Biology, Applied Physics, or Material Science to join our lab.
Undergraduate Students:
We welcome UIUC undergraduates who are interested in gaining research experience in the areas of medical imaging, nanotechnology, diagnostic devices. Please note that we generally discourage short-term projects (single semester) since there is a significant amount of training required prior to participating in one of our research programs. Students, who are interested in long-term (one year or more) intensive research projects, are encouraged to contact Prof. Yun-Sheng Chen.

New paper published in Nature Nanotechnology!
Our paper on “ultra-high-frequency-radio-frequency-acoustic molecular imaging with saline nanodroplets in living subjects” has bee accepted for publication in Nature Nanotechnology.
